Egypt records 36 new deaths from Covid-19, highest since mid June

Egypt’s health ministry reported 36 new deaths from Covid-19 complications in the past 24 hours nationwide, bringing the total number of fatalities from the virus to 17,110.

This is the daily highest death toll recorded in Egypt since 24 June 2021

In its daily coronavirus statement late on Friday, the ministry said 568 new coronavirus cases were recorded, bringing the total infection tally to 300,278 since the outbreak began in February 2020.

The statement added that 800 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 253,271.
