Egypt reports nearly 800 new coronavirus cases on Thursday
Egypt reported 799 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total infection tally to 309,934 since the outbreak began in February 2020, said the health ministry in its daily coronavirus update statement.
This is the highest telly recorded in a single day in Egypt since 7 June 2021.
The ministry also reported 39 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the country's total death toll to 17,584.
The statement added that 422 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 261,612.
