According to Meghad’s media statements, the Chinese Sinovac vaccine doses are a gift from the Chinese people to the Egyptian people and that there is no difference between the Chinese-produced Sinovac and the locally produced Egyptian Sinovac.

Regarding Moderna, the health ministry spokesperson revealed that the talks continue with Moderna mother company to reach an agreement to locally produce the vaccine in Egypt through VACSERA.

Egypt started this summer producing the Sinovac/VACSERA vaccine through state-owned VACSERA targeting the local and African markets.

According to the latest statements by Presidential Health Adviser Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, Egypt has already managed to vaccinate 14 million people.

The government has also announced it is planning to vaccinate 40 million people before the end of 2021.

In recent weeks, the country obtained more than 40.4 million doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Sputnik , Sinovac , Johnson and Johnson and Sinopharm vaccines
