Monday's toll brings up the total number of deaths from the virus to 18,711, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health.
The health ministry reported 951 new coronavirus cases on the same day. It is the highest daily increase of COVID-19 cases reported in Egypt since 2 June 2021.
Monday’s reported cases raise the total infection tally to 331,968 since the outbreak began in February 2020.
As many as 912 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, the ministry said, raising the total number of recoveries to 279,179.
Egypt is witnessing a steady increase in daily infections and deaths since early August amid the fourth wave of the pandemic.
