The Ministry in its daily coronavirus update statement reported 51 new deaths in the past 24 hours nationwide, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 21,155.
The statement added that 903 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 308,829.
On Monday, Egypt signed a procurement agreement with AstraZeneca for the first FDA-authorized coronavirus antibody Evusheld.
Egypt is the second country in the Middle East, and one of the first in the world to acquire Evusheld for immunocompromised patients.
