Egypt reports 919 new coronavirus cases, 46 deaths on Sunday
Egypt reported 919 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the total infection tally officially to 375,330 since the outbreak began in February 2020, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The ministry also reported 46 new deaths in the past 24 hours nationwide, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 21,361.
The statement added that 654 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 312,291.
On Friday, Egypt detected its first three cases of the new coronavirus highly transmissible variant Omicron in Egyptian nationals who had returned from abroad at Cairo International Airport.
The three Omicron cases were detected among Egyptians who arrived from one of the countries that reported cases of the new variant, according to health ministry.
