Three people killed, 13 injured due to unstable weather conditions: Egypt's Health Ministry

Three people were killed and 13 others were injured on Friday across the country due to unstable weather conditions hitting Egypt since Thursday, the Health Ministry announced on Saturday.

According to the Ministry of Health, a man was killed in Kafr Al-Sheikh governorate after he was electrocuted from an electric pole.

In Minya governorate’s desert road near the city Samalut a microbus overturned killing one of the passengers and injuring eleven others. The victims were transferred to hospital, the Health Ministry said.

Also in Minya, a collision between a bus and a truck left one person injured.

A person was injured when he was electrocuted from an electric pole in Cairo’s Helwan neighborhood. Another persona was killed in Alexandria when an old two-storey house collapsed due to heavy rain.

Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar said the Ministry was coordinating with ambulance authority emergency during this unstable weather wave.

According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, Egypt is experiencing a wave of unstable weather conditions including heavy rainfall and strong wind from Thursday till Tuesday.
