Egypt's daily coronavirus cases exceed 1,000 for first time since May 2021
Egypt reported 1011 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total infection toll up to 396,699 since the outbreak began in February 2020, the health ministry said.

This is considered the highest single-day toll of coronavirus cases since 30 May 2021.
The ministry also reported 21 new deaths in the past 24 hours nationwide, bringing the total fatalities nationwide to 22,063.
The statement added that 912 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 330,714.
