The ministry also recorded 57 Covid-19 linked fatalities, bringing the total tally of deaths to 23,110.
The statement added that the total number of recoveries is 380,028 after 2,428 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
Egypt is currently battling a noticeable spike in positive cases. Since late January, the country has been recording daily infections over the 2,000-mark.
However, the country is expected to witness a decline in infections in two to three weeks, according to officials.
Egypt continues efforts to expand its vaccination campaign and immunise 70 percent of the population by the second half of 2022.
It has administered a total of 38 million first vaccine doses and 28.6 million second doses since the start of the mass vaccination campaign in January, according to the report.
As many as 672,266 booster shots have also been administered, bringing the total number of doses given since the start of the campaign to 66.3 million.
