Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar stated at the weekly cabinet meeting last Thursday that “Egypt has obtained a total of 140.5 million vaccine doses, from which 66.6 million have been consumed so far”.

The country currently has 28.9 million fully vaccinated citizens, according to the health ministry’s daily statistics.

As many as 732,330 booster shots have been administered, the ministry said.

This comes as part of Egypt’s plans to vaccinate 70 percent of its 102 million population by the second half of 2022.
