Egypt reports 2,129 new coronavirus infections, 60 deaths on Monday
Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population reported on Monday 2,129 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total cases since the outbreak began in February 2020 to 457,081.
The ministry also recorded 60 COVID-19 fatalities, bringing the total tally of deaths to 23,409.
The ministry added in a statement that the total number of recoveries is 388,943 after 1,243 patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.
340 public and central hospitals were designated to become isolation hospitals nationwide for coronavirus patients.
77 fever hospitals as well 26 university hospitals affiliated with 18 universities were also designated to become isolation hospitals during the high waves of the pandemic.
