Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawi and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat
The cooperation protocol was signed between the local development ministry and the governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh, Gharbiya and Dakahliya.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU) are investing in the project with 79 million euros and eight million euros respectively.

The signing of the agreement is in accordance with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directives to the government to improve water quality, which will contribute to improving the health and environmental conditions in about 182 villages in the three governorates, said Shaarawi.
The local development ministry will work to upgrade the efficiency of waste collection and transportation in the three governorates, at investments worth 34.5 million euros in Kafr El-Sheikh, 18.5 million euros in Gharbia and 20 million euros in Daqahliya, Shaarawi added.
