El-Sisi's remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in the presence of Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar in Cairo, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The Egyptian President valued the WHO's role and efforts, under Ghebreyesus, during the coronavirus period.

El-Sisi also noted that the State is keen to apply the universal health insurance system across the nation as a national priority in line with Egypt Vision 2030.

Meanwhile, Ghebreyesus lauded Egypt's health efforts, especially the 100 Million Health initiative, which remarkably contributed to offering better services for the Egyptians, saying WHO is keen on promoting cooperation with Egypt to benefit from its expertise as a successful one at the global level.

Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus arrived in Egypt on Sunday to attend the 69th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean (RC69) taking place 10-13 October in Cairo.
