Egypt reports entrance of 12 injured Palestinians for treatment Thursday

Egypt's Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 12 wounded Palestinians were transferred from Gaza to Egypt via the Rafah border crossing to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

According to health ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, quarantine doctors at the Rafah border crossing conducted medical examinations on 699 foreign nationals, including 121 children, who were vaccinated against polio, measles, and mumps.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that 19 Palestinian children with cancer were transferred from Gaza to be treated in Egyptian hospitals.

According to Ahram Online estimates based on official reports and statements, excluding Palestinian children with cancer who are and will be treated in Egypt according to an agreement with Turkey, around 100 injured Palestinians were transferred to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals in North Sinai, Port Said, and Ismailia governorates.

On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar said that Egypt has been receiving between 40 to 50 injured Palestinians from Gaza for treatment daily since Wednesday.

According to Abdel-Ghaffar, approximately 50 complex surgical operations on children injured in Israeli air strikes have been performed so far.

Since 7 October, Israeli air strikes in Gaza have killed more than 11,000 people, including 4,500 children, and wounded more than 22,000, reported the Palestinian health ministry.
