Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population announced Monday that the total estimated value of donations received from Arab and foreign governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector to support the ministry's efforts in providing medical care to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has exceeded EGP 354 million (just under $11.5 million).

The ministry further added that it examined 23,400 cases at the Rafah border crossing since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, adding that 1,402 Palestinian patients have received treatment in 34 Egyptian hospitals, while 824 patients traveled to third party countries after receiving medical care in Egypt.
According to the ministry's official statement, more than 22,000 medical services were provided to the Palestinians coming from the Rafah border crossing, and surgical interventions were performed for 893 cases.
Earlier in December, the ministry launched an initiative to treat 1,000 children among those wounded in Israel's attack on the strip, in cooperation with Terous Misr Foundation for Development, an NGO, and Nestlé Egypt, a private bottled water brand.
