The initiative aims to unify communication channels to ensure a swift and secure response to citizens’ requests and complaints, guaranteeing easy access to healthcare services.

"The hotline facilitates communication with the public, offering urgent care services such as allocating burn unit beds, neonatal incubators, blood bags and derivatives and supporting initiatives related to acute heart attacks and strokes," Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar said.

He said the hotline covers services related to the presidential initiative to end waiting lists, which targets 11 medical specialities, including cardiac catheterization, neurosurgery, and liver and kidney transplants.

It offers other specialized medical council services, such as state-funded treatment, hearing aids, and the Integrated Services Card, available Saturday through Thursday, from 9am to 4pm.

Moreover, the hotline provides access to services under the 100 Million Healthy Lives initiative, including premarital screenings, support for refugees and foreign nationals, and the “Ask Health” service.

It also covers preventive care, anti-smoking programmes, and inquiries to Vaccsera regarding vaccines.

Further support is available for mental health services, addiction treatment, family development, and information on contraceptive methods and reproductive health from Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 5pm.

According to Abdel-Ghaffar, the hotline includes services under the General Administration for Citizen Services, which receives inquiries, handles complaints and requests around the clock, and directs service seekers to the appropriate authorities.

It also facilitates the licensing of private healthcare facilities. Citizens can call to inquire about the required documents for licensing non-governmental medical establishments.

Healthcare workers can also inquire about assignment decisions and grievance timelines, with this service available daily from 9am to 9pm.

"Unifying services under one hotline is essential for governing the healthcare system, enhancing its efficiency, ensuring rapid response, and reducing the confusion caused by multiple communication channels," Abdel-Ghaffar affirmed.

The move reflects the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the quality of healthcare services, fostering public trust, and advancing Egypt’s Vision 2030 for universal healthcare.
