During a meeting Tuesday with State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsy at the company's pavilion, Darmon underlined French defense companies' interest in deepening cooperation with their Egyptian peers, especially in light of the radical reforms Egypt has been witnessing in recent years at all levels.

In its second edition, the EDEX 2021 provides a platform for exhibitors to showcase cutting-edge equipment in the defence and security domains.

The fair, which is being held from 29 November to 2 December at Egypt International Convention and Exhibition Centre in New Cairo under the patronage of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, is the only tri-service defence and military industries exhibition in North Africa.

Darmon also applauded the Military Production Ministry's efforts to create an event that reflects Egypt's leading role in the region.

"Over the past few years, Egypt has become a major influential regional player in terms of defense and military capabilities," said Morsy, who was visiting Thales pavilion at the expo.

The exhibition saw the participation of over 400 international companies working in defence and military industries representing 42 countries, including the US, France, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Morsy added that his ministry looks forward to engaging in more partnerships with major players in the global defense industry.
