According to a statement issued by the AOI, the organization is keen to cooperate with the Italian firm and the cooperation includes training to develop capabilities using the latest techniques and technologies.

AIO chairman Abdel-Moneim El-Tarras stressed during the signing of the MoU the importance of cooperation with international firms to transfer their technology and expertise to Egypt.

El-Tarras added that this agreement is in line with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to increase the use of local components in defence-related industries.

For his part, Rheinmetall CEO Alessandro Ercolani praised the industrial and human capabilities of the AOI and its ability to use technology to achieve high production rates using the latest techniques in the defence industries.

Ercolani added that the Egyptian market is of strategic importance to the Arab and African regions.
