During the inauguration, Commander of the Egyptian Navy Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa presented a souvenir to the Egyptian President on the occasion of introducing the Egyptian "MEKO A-200" frigate, made entirely by Egyptian hands, at the Alexandria Shipyard.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, described EDEX 2023 as a significant and timely global event that coincides with the conflicts and wars the world is witnessing.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI), Major General Mokhtar Abdel-Latif, confirmed that AOI's participation in this global event aligns with its strategy and Egypt's goals and vision. 

Beginning 4 December to 7 December, EDEX 2023 is expected to attract 35,000 visitors, including high-level military delegations from over 100 countries.

The third edition of the exhibition features 22 pavilions showcasing the latest in land, sea, and air military technology. Over 400 exhibiting companies from 46 countries are participating in this year's edition of EDEX.  

Egypt's Ministry of Defence and Military Production, the AOI, and Arabian Word Events are organizing the event.  

The Egyptian pavilion sheds light on the defence ministry's current cutting-edge military technology and plans for developing its capabilities in the future.

The second edition of the exhibition was held in 2021 and saw the participation of around 400 companies representing 42 countries.
