According to the Egyptian presidency, President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt's efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure unimpeded humanitarian aid, emphasizing the importance of protecting residents of the Gaza Strip from the tragic humanitarian situation they are experiencing.
El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's continuous provision of relief aid to the Palestinian people in the strip, in addition to coordinating and delivering assistance provided by the international community.
Both sides stressed the urgency of intensifying international efforts to implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly, recognizing the dangerous situation and the need for de-escalation.
They emphasized the importance of seeking political solutions to the current crisis, safeguarding the security and stability of the region, which is increasingly threatened.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in defense and military cooperation, the spokesperson added.
The Greek defense minister began the meeting by conveying the greetings and congratulations of the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to President El-Sisi over his success in the Egyptian presidential elections.
He highlighted the confirmation of the Egyptian people's trust in President El-Sisi’s leadership as reflected in the results of the presidential elections, according to the Egyptian presidency.
Dendias commended Egypt's positive role and influence in its regional surroundings in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. He also praised the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and Greece, both bilaterally and through the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Cyprus.
Moreover, President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's pride in the special and historical relations between the two countries, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining this active relationship for the benefit of both peoples and promoting cooperation in various fields.
General Mohamed Zaki, the commander-in-chief of Egypt’s Armed Forces and the defense minister, along with the ambassador of Greece to Cairo attended the meeting.
