Elements from the Egyptian Commandos and Paratroopers Forces alongside others from the British Special Forces are participating in the drills, the statement said.

It is planned to execute a variety of training activities for unifying concepts, exchanging and acquiring experiences, and honing the skills of the participating special forces from both sides.

The drills’ activities are set to continue for several days in the Egyptian combat training fields.

This comes within the framework of the armed forces joint training plan with friendly countries, Abdel-Hafez added.

In January, the Egyptian and British military engineers engaged in collaborative training at the headquarters of Egypt’s Military Engineers Institute. It focused on effectively countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The training encompassed a series of theoretical and practical activities, introducing advanced methods using the latest tools to detect and handle IEDs on roads and in facilities, Abdel-Hafez said at the time.

In late 2022, the Egyptian-British Hurghada Air Show 2022 was held in Hurghada's Sahl Hashish, with the participation of the Egyptian Air Force's Silver Stars and the British Royal Air Force aerobatic team Red Arrows.
