According to the Egyptian Military spokesperson, Zaki discussed with the delegation, headed by Adam Smith, the committee’s minority leader, a number of issues related to the crisis in Gaza.

They exchanged views on the necessity of not expanding the scope of military operations, to ensure that the foundations of security and stability in the Middle East are not destabilized.

They also underscored the Egyptian efforts towards reaching a ceasefire, calming the situation, and ensuring a full and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip.

For over four months, Israel has continued its brutal aggression, facing growing international pressure to accept a ceasefire in Gaza, as the Israeli army has so far killed 29,092 and wounded 69,028 since 7 October, most of whom are women and children.
