During the ceremony, El-Sisi honoured and acknowledged the nation's valiant martyrs who gave their lives defending the country, emphasizing that the state will forever remember these martyrs who paved the way for development and progress with their blood.

He further underscored the gratitude of the Egyptian people for the endeavours and sacrifices of the Armed Forces in safeguarding Egypt and upholding its values.

Moreover, he commended the Armed Forces for their cooperation in developing the country and providing a decent life for its citizens, and for protecting the country’s national security.

While the state celebrates the anniversary of the 1973 war on both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars, only the Gregorian anniversary is designated a national holiday.
