The ceremony witnessed the distribution of household electrical appliances to 25 of the neediest families, the Egyptian Armed Forces Spokesperson Gharib Abdel-Hafez Gharib said in a statement.
The initiative’s beneficiaries came from the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbiya, and Kafr El-Sheikh, which fall within the scope of responsibility of the Northern Military Zone, said the statement.
The campaign's first phase included distributing electrical and home appliances, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, to 332 families that need social care, according to a separate statement by the Armed Forces.
During Wednesday's celebration, Major General Hisham Hosni Hassan, Commander of the Northern Military Zone, delivered a speech highlighting that the event reflects the Armed Forces' efforts to alleviate the burdens on the neediest families from various segments of the Egyptian society.
Hassan indicated that the Northern Military Zone simultaneously fulfils its social responsibilities and maintains its combat systems, weapons, and equipment, continuously improving its performance to execute all assigned tasks and duties.
According to the statement, the beneficiaries expressed their deep appreciation for the Armed Forces' efforts to provide comprehensive support and care to the Egyptian people.
The report also showed that among the ten governorates with the highest marriage rates, Beheira recorded 58,000 new marriages in 2022, while Gharbiya had 51,000, and Alexandria had 50,000.
The Egyptian population has reached 106.5 million as of July 2024, according to CAPMAS figures.
