This came during an inspection tour of an Air Defence Forces formation as part of a field visit to assess the readiness and combat preparedness of the Armed Forces units.
Minister Saqr visited several command centres, where he was briefed on plans and measures taken to safeguard airspace within the formation.
He also toured specialized units and workshops for technical support and maintenance of various weapons and equipment.
The visit concluded with an inspection of an exhibition showcasing modern defence systems employed by the Air Defence Forces.
During the tour, Saqr met several air defence fighters, conveying greetings and appreciation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
He added that the president is proud of the efforts made by air defence personnel in securing Egyptian airspace around the clock, the statement noted.
The minister emphasized that the Armed Forces General Command is committed to providing continuous support to all units and formations to ensure they maintain the highest efficiency and combat readiness levels.
“Defending the homeland, securing its borders, and preserving the capabilities of its great people is a sacred mission that cannot be compromised,” he stressed.
He urged air defence personnel to continue rigorous training and maximize the use of advanced air defence systems to effectively fulfil all assigned tasks in safeguarding the nation's security and preserving its sanctity.
Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa, chief of staff of the armed forces, and several armed forces leaders accompanied the defence minister on his tour.
