The course was organized by the Liaison Agency with International Organizations, part of the Egyptian Military Intelligence Authority, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Several Armed Forces officers attended the event qualified to participate in various United Nations (UN) missions, as well as officers from other countries.
It also featured representatives from the Agency and experts in maintaining international peace and security from the IOM and the European Union (EU).
The programme included a series of lectures, workshops, and discussion sessions delivered by specialized experts from the IOM.
These sessions focused on the rules and laws governing the rights of civilians, especially during international crises that pose serious threats to people.
They also covered the principles of international migration law and the role of military forces in protecting the most vulnerable groups—such as women and children—during crises and conflicts.
During the event, representatives from the IOM emphasized that organizing this course reflects Egypt’s firm commitment to supporting UN efforts and enhancing its contributions to peacekeeping operations.
They also highlighted the dedication of the Egyptian state to developing the capabilities of its Armed Forces personnel participating in UN missions, per international standards.
Cooperation between the Agency and the IOM has seen significant progress in the fields of capacity-building and training to address irregular migration, border management, and maintaining international peace and security.
This progress comes in line with the latest international standards and within the framework of the strategic partnership between the Egyptian Armed Forces and various international organizations.
These efforts reflect the Egyptian state's keenness to support regional and international security, strengthen its capabilities in maintaining international peace and security, and contribute to UN peace operations, particularly in the fields of capacity-building and training.
