Egypt Defence Minister reviews special forces' combat readiness

Egypt’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, General Abdel-Meguid Saqr, met with special forces fighters from the Paratroopers and Thunderbolt (Sa‘eqa) units as part of ongoing visits to assess morale, combat readiness, and operational preparedness.

According to Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Gharib Abdel-Hafez, the meeting was attended by Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, commanders of the main military branches, and senior officers.

It began with a speech by Thunderbolt Forces Commander Major General Abdel-Qader Emara Habib, who affirmed the forces’ dedication to safeguarding Egypt’s security and stability.

He highlighted the strength and unity of the Armed Forces and the support provided by the General Command to maintain operational efficiency.

General Saqr conveyed the greetings of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the fighters and praised their role in protecting the nation and its sanctities. He stressed the importance of maintaining peak combat efficiency through continuous training, high morale, and readiness to defend Egypt’s resources and achievements.

The minister later joined the soldiers for lunch and inspected an exhibition of the latest weapons and equipment used by the Thunderbolt Forces.
