Egypt-US ‘Bright Star 2025’ military exercise to commence Thursday
The joint Egyptian-American military exercise, “Bright Star 2025,” will commence in Egypt on Thursday, 28 August, and conclude on Wednesday, 10 September.

According to a video teaser released by the Armed Forces spokesperson, the Egyptian-US combined exercise will involve 44 countries, with 14 countries participating with troops (comprising more than 8,000 soldiers).
Additionally, 30 countries will join the two-week drill as observers.
First launched in 1980 as a bilateral US–Egypt exercise, Bright Star has since evolved into a multinational exercise aimed at bolstering regional security, strengthening military cooperation, and enhancing interoperability among partner forces.
This year marks the 19th edition of the exercise.
