The signing took place during a meeting between the two defence ministers as part of Minister Tax's current official visit to Egypt.
The meeting began with an official reception ceremony at the Ministry of Defence headquarters, where a military band played the national anthems of both countries.
During the meeting, General Saqr affirmed the depth of historical ties between Egypt and Tanzania, stressing Cairo’s keenness to expand military cooperation across various levels.
For her part, Minister Tax expressed appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting peace and stability in Africa, voicing her hope for further cooperation in the future.
After the meeting, both ministers signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate the transfer and exchange of expertise in several military domains.
The signing was attended by Egyptian Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of Tanzania People’s Defence Forces Lieutenant General Salum Haji Othman, commanders of the main branches of the armed forces of both countries, and the Tanzanian ambassador and defence attaché in Cairo.
