Egypt, Saudi Arabia sign naval cooperation protocol to bolster regional maritime security
Egyptian Navy Commander Vice Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzy and the Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Gharibi, signed a cooperation protocol on Monday aimed at supporting regional maritime security efforts.
During a meeting at the Egyptian Navy headquarters in Alexandria, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen military cooperation between the navies and means of transferring and exchanging expertise.
Fawzy and al-Gharibi toured the Alexandria Shipyard Company and inspected several naval units to review the latest armament systems recently introduced into service with the Egyptian navy.
They also visited the Naval Academy, where they were briefed on the training and educational programmes designed to prepare cadets in line with modern international standards.
The visit underscored the Egyptian navy’s commitment to deepening military cooperation with allied and friendly nations, enhancing joint capabilities, and safeguarding regional security.
