The visit is part of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ ongoing efforts to maintain communication with the people of Sinai and discuss local concerns, according to a statement by the military spokesperson.
The meeting began with a moment of silence to honour the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend the nation.
In his remarks, Commander of the East Canal Counterterrorism Forces Major General Hisham Fathi Shendi conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa.
He highlighted the Armed Forces’ commitment to fully supporting the people of Sinai and continuing cooperation with state institutions to advance comprehensive development across the peninsula.

The Sinai tribal leaders reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Armed Forces in maintaining security and stability across Egypt, the statement said.
They also expressed deep appreciation for the Armed Forces’ role in protecting the country and their contributions to Sinai’s development through collaboration with state agencies on projects that improve citizens’ quality of life.
