Armed Forces announce organization of Egypt Defence Expo 2025

The Egyptian Armed Forces announced in an international press conference on Thursday hosting the fourth edition of the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2025), set to take place at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre from 1 to 4 December.

Held under the auspices of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the exhibition will feature leading exhibitors and global companies specialising in defence, armament, and security industries.

The conference highlighted the political leadership’s support for EDEX as a major international event that underscores Egypt’s growing role in the defence industry.

Organisers emphasised the cooperation among all participating entities to ensure the exhibition reflects Egypt’s regional and global standing.

Officials announced that EDEX 2025 will host national pavilions from 25 countries, with exhibitors from around the world showcasing the latest technologies in defence and armament. The event is expected to attract official delegations from over 100 countries and approximately 45,000 visitors.

During the press conference, media representatives received detailed responses from officials about the exhibition’s organisation and objectives.

The event was attended by several ambassadors, accredited military attachés, strategic experts, and representatives of Egyptian and international media.

It was also attended by Minister of State for Military Production Maj. Gen. Eng. Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, Maj. Gen. Mokhtar Abdel-Latif, Head of the Armed Forces Armament Authority, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Adly Abdel-Wahed, Chairman of the Arab International Optronics Company, Maj. Gen. Tarek Saad Zaghlool, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Eng. Mohamed Zaki El-Sewedy, Deputy Director of the National Service Projects Organisation, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Mahmoud, and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Rear Adm. Eng. Alaa Fathi.

According to its official website, EDEX is the only defence and security event that covers both Africa and the Middle East and is the largest in Africa.

The first edition of EDEX was launched in December 2018. EDEX 2025 marks the fourth edition of the event.
