Egyptian–Saudi Red Wave-8 exercise ends after multi-day operations involving six countries

The joint Egyptian–Saudi naval exercise Red Wave-8 has concluded after being carried out over several days in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of naval forces from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, and Djibouti.

The exercise included several live-fire drills conducted by the naval special forces of the participating countries, as well as training on countering fast-attack craft, searching for hostile submarines, and executing artillery fire at surface targets.

It also featured various sailing formations carried out by the naval units participating in the drill.

The final phase of the exercise involved a practical demonstration of storming a coastal island under the cover of preparatory fire provided by air force elements, as well as aerial support to the forces, reconnaissance of the island’s coastline, and its securing in preparation for the advance of the forces and successful execution of the landing.

The final phase was attended by the Commander of the Egyptian Navy and several naval commanders from all participating countries.
