
Egypt and Greece kicked off the “Medusa-14” joint military exercise, bringing together forces from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and France
According to the Egyptian army, the activities of the joint military exercise “Medusa-14”, started in Egypt with participating forces arriving over the past days at Egyptian naval, air and military bases.
The drills, which will run for several days, are taking place across the Mediterranean theatre of operations, the Mohamed Naguib military base, and a number of Egyptian air bases.
The exercise brings together units from the Egyptian, Greek, Cypriot, Saudi, and French armed forces, including elements from the navy, air force, ground forces, and special forces.
In addition, 12 other countries are taking part as observers.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Sherif Al-Araishi, Head of the Armed Forces Training Authority, delivered remarks conveying the greetings and appreciation of General Abdel-Meguid Saqr, Minister of Defence and Military Production, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to the participating forces.

Al-Araishi emphasized that the exercise represents a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and stay current with modern military tactics, thereby enhancing cooperation and strengthening combined operational capabilities.
Following the opening ceremony, commanders from the participating countries toured an exhibition displaying the weapons and equipment scheduled for use during the various phases of the exercise.
