Egypt, Turkey air force chiefs hold talks on military cooperation

Egypt’s air force chief met his Turkish counterpart in Cairo on Thursday for talks on expanding military cooperation, according to Egypt’s military spokesperson.

Major General Amr Saqr, commander of the Egyptian Air Force, received General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, head of the Turkish Air Force, and his delegation at the Air Force Command headquarters.

The discussions covered issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen coordination between the two forces, the spokesperson said.

Saqr stressed the importance of closer coordination to serve the interests of both air forces and expressed hope for further progress in bilateral ties in the coming period.

Kadıoğlu, for his part, highlighted the depth of cooperation between the two sides.

During the visit, the Turkish delegation toured several Egyptian Air Force units and reviewed newly introduced training and armament systems, according to the statement.
