The flight took off at 7am from Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport carrying 110 tourists and Egyptians on board and will return later tonight according to a tour programme to give the passengers an opportunity to visit the museums and archaeological sites of Luxor, enjoy the city’s charming atmosphere and traditional market, and board a Nile cruise.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ statement, the operation of the flight is within the framework of the Egyptian government’s efforts to create a new comprehensive tourist product by integrating leisure tourism with cultural tourism, linking the cities of the Nile Valley with the Red Sea’s resort cities.

The ministry added that those domestic flights would also enrich tourists’ time in Egypt and enable them to visit more than one destination at a time.

The operation of this flight was agreed upon during a meeting held between both the Ministers of Tourism and Antiquities and Civil Aviation several days ago to discuss promoting tourism in Egypt.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is currently providing discounted prices for domestic flights to various tourist destinations at a price of 2,150 pounds to Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, and Taba, and 2,450 pounds to both Marsa Alam and Aswan.
