Head of the Egyptian Federation of Hot Air Ballooning Companies in Luxor Ahmed Aboud stated in a press release that they launched weather balloons after ensuring that wind conditions were within safe levels.

In mid-April, Chairman of the Cultural Tourism Marketing Committee Mohamed Othman stated that the tourist season in Luxor and Aswan has been “exceptional” in the first quarter of 2023, with a 22 percent increase in the number of tourists compared to the same period last year, according to the state-owned Middle East News Agency.
Additionally, tourists are spending 18 to 20 percent more than the previous year.
