The iconic Spanish coach toured the museum’s remarkable archaeological collections, including the Royal Mummies Hall and the Egyptian Textile Hall.
Before that, him and his family visited the Giza Pyramids and had a lunch banquet at one of the hotels overlooking the pyramids, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Guardiola, 52, was welcomed at Cairo International Airport on Thursday by tourism officials who presented them with flowers, souvenirs and promotional materials about some of the tourist and archaeological sites in Egypt.
The ministry revealed that the coach is also planning to take a Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan aboard a Dahabiya – a traditional sailed houseboat – that will conclude with a visit to the Abu Simbel Temple in Aswan.

Amr El-Kady, the CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, pointed out that such celebrity visits can be a huge boost to tourism in the country. Tourism from Spain, in particular, has witnessed significant growth during the first half of this year.
