According to EgyptAir's website, there will be one trip each week on this route, leaving Cairo on Thursdays at 11:25pm and landing at 6:10pm. It will take off from Tokyo at 8:30pm and arriving in Cairo at 4:05am on Fridays.

This statement was made during a meeting between the Egyptian ambassador to Japan, Oka Hirosh, and the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mohamed Abbas Helmy, to discuss mutual cooperation and different issues pertaining to civil aviation activities.

Helmy and Hirosh evaluated the most recent changes to the Borg El Arab Airport's Terminal 2 passenger construction project as one of the subjects covered in their conversation.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is collaborating on this project.

Its goals, which include the utilisation of clean and renewable energy sources, the reduction of carbon emissions, and the mitigation of environmental degradation, are in line with Egypt's larger vision of transforming its airports into environmentally friendly facilities.

The two parties also discussed measures to boost air travel and advance tourism between Egypt and Japan.

According to the most recent data provided by the firm, EgyptAir flights served 71 overseas destinations in H1 of 2023, an increase of 10 percent from the previous year.
