The PM made his remarks while inaugurating the second international exhibition and conference for Egyptian medical tourism applications in the New Administrative Capital.
The Egyptian state is developing such destinations by partnering with the private sector, he added.
Madbouly explained that these destinations have unique and special geographical features that lend themselves to becoming global medical tourism destinations.
The PM said that medical tourism is an important source of direct foreign investment.
He pointed out that, during the conference, Egypt’s first medical and health resort was launched in Giza’s El-Saff city, with investments worth $1.5 billion.
The conference was organized by the South Sinai governorate to exchange experiences and highlight the country’s potential in the field of medical tourism.
In his speech at the conference, South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda asserted Egypt has unique natural potential that can be capitalized on for medical tourism.
Fouda underscored the importance of coordinating efforts between different ministries and state bodies to develop this potential.
He added that 1,365 natural springs have been discovered in Egypt, including a significant number of thermal and sulfur springs, encouraging entrepreneurs to invest in this field due to its importance.
Fouda also revealed that new projects for health tourism will be signed on Sunday before the conference concludes
