The tourism ministry announced it received a detailed report from ReviewPro, a large international company, regarding evaluations of Egyptian tourist destinations’ visitors of the services offered in hotel establishments in Egypt in the first quarter of 2024.

Mohamed Ayoub, a board member of the Chamber of Hotel Establishments, stated that according to this report, hotel establishments at Egyptian tourist destinations achieved a Global Review Index (GRI) of 85.1 percent, an improvement of 1.1 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

The report includes an evaluation of the quality of hotel services, the staff performance level, their professional communication with guests, guests’ distinguished experience and enjoyment during their stay, and entertainment services availability.

These evaluations were documented on major travel and tourism platforms including Tripadvisor, Google, Booking, HolidayCheck, and TopHotels.

The report reviewed and analyzed visitor evaluations of hotel establishments in the governorates of South Sinai, Red Sea, Luxor, Aswan, Greater Cairo, and Alexandria.

It also highlighted many positive indicators, confirming the noticeable improvement in tourist service quality.

Moreover, it aligns with the ministry's commitment to improving the quality of tourist services offered at Egyptian tourist destinations and enhancing tourist experience, one of the main pillars of the National Tourism Strategy in Egypt that has been implemented since November 2022, the ministry said

Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs Ghada Shalaby emphasized the importance of this report as it highlights the strengths reflected in these evaluations.

It also focuses on improving and developing areas that received feedback from tourists, enhancing the tourist experience, and attracting more tourist traffic to Egypt.

Shalaby confirmed that the quality of services provided to tourists has become one of the most important elements that attract tourists to one destination over another.

Additionally, visitors can give feedback through the ministry's hotline (19654), dedicated to their complaints and suggestions to ensure a high quality of the services provided.

Egypt attracted a record-breaking 7.069 million tourists between January and June 2024, compared to 7.062 million tourists in the same period last year. The tourism revenues in the first half of 2024 reached $6.6 billion, compared to $6.3 billion in 2023 and $5.6 billion in 2010, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The year 2023 marked a milestone in Egypt's tourism history, recording the highest number of inbound tourists at 14.906 million, surpassing the previous peak of 14.731 million tourists in 2010.
