Egypt's modern ports and facilities are ideal for marine activities, such as mooring luxury yachts and exploring the Red Sea's coral reefs.

This year marks the sixth edition of the Egypt International Yacht and Boat Show, first introduced in 2007.

“The exhibition is considered a real opportunity for those wishing to own a yacht, which will help revitalize the yacht market and place Egypt on the global yacht tourism map,” according to a statement by the Ministry of Industry and Transport.

This edition will feature over 40 companies and 120 brands, showcasing a variety of yachts in different sizes and related equipment.

The four-day event will also feature a discussion session titled "Egypt: A Global Destination for Yacht Tourism," highlighting the tourism sector's importance in strengthening the Egyptian economy.

The statement revealed that participants will also discuss key development opportunities and the role of tourism in increasing investments and contributing to tourism's overall development.

The show is open to the public from 11am (Egypt local time) (GMT +2) daily until Sunday, 9 February. Registration is available through the show’s website.

The ministry's efforts to improve Egypt’s yacht tourism go beyond this show and are a response to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directives.

Since July, tourists arriving on foreign tourist yachts have been granted a three-month tourist stay instead of one month.

The ministry has also implemented measures to simplify and expedite procedures for foreign yachts arriving and departing from ports and marinas along the Egyptian coasts.

These measures include establishing a single digital platform for foreign yachts and reducing approval time for tourist yacht programmes to 30 minutes instead of 15-30 days.

Furthermore, a uniform docking tariff has been set at all government docks, passenger stations, and tourist ports.

Yachts can now depart from any tourist port or marina regardless of the arrival port or marina.

Yachting enthusiasts now have the freedom to choose their docking location based on announced prices, provided services, and the desired tourist itinerary.
