The agreements — a Business Travel Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) — were signed Saturday at EgyptAir’s Cairo headquarters.

The Business Travel Agreement was signed by Mohamed Alyan, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Airlines, and Lang Cao, Vice President of Huawei Global Business Travel.

Separately, the MoU on digital transformation was signed by EgyptAir Holding VP for Information Technology Yasser Omran and Huawei Egypt Senior Vice President Dou Yong.

Under the travel deal, EgyptAir becomes the preferred airline for Huawei employees worldwide.

The MoU outlines areas of technological cooperation, including digital infrastructure, smart communications, and artificial intelligence solutions, to enhance the airline’s operations.

EgyptAir Holding Chairman and CEO Ahmed Adel said the partnership was part of the carrier’s broader digital transformation strategy.

“This partnership allows EGYPTAIR to make use of the latest technological solutions provided by Huawei to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and support infrastructure development,” Adel stated during the signing ceremony.

At the same time, Alyan described it as supporting the company’s fleet and network expansion.

“Huawei employees and guests will have access to tailored services across our network, supported by our operational teams in over 80 destinations,” he said.

In tandem, Huawei representatives stated that the agreements reflect the company’s efforts to enhance international travel services for Chinese businesses and contribute to Egypt’s digital economy.

“By linking Huawei’s Smartcom platform with EGYPTAIR’s network, we aim to enhance travel services for Chinese businesses and support people-to-people exchange,” Cao stated.

Dou Yong emphasized Huawei’s long-standing presence in Egypt and its role in supporting the country’s digital development.

“We believe this step reflects a shared vision for modernizing Egypt’s aviation sector and contributing to the national digital economy,” he said.

Huawei has been operating in Egypt for over two decades, collaborating with public and private institutions to develop ICT infrastructure and skills.

The deal comes amid growing collaborations between the aviation and technology sectors as Egypt pursues digital integration across its economy.
