Air Cairo launches new Alexandria–Athens route starting 24 July

Egypt’s carrier Air Cairo has announced the launch of a new direct route connecting Alexandria and Athens beginning 24 July, expanding travel links between Egypt and Greece.

The service will operate twice weekly offering passengers a new option for travelling between the two Mediterranean cities.

The airline said the route aims to strengthen connectivity and provide easier access to Greece’s capital, a destination with deep historical and cultural ties to Alexandria.

Promotional material for the new route highlights the journey as one that connects “a city with deep Greek historical ties” to Athens itself, describing the destination as one where “every detail feels new, yet strangely familiar.”
