Presidential guard secures Tahrir before Morsi's historic speech at 6pm

As masses await the arrival of president-elect Mohamed Morsi in Tahrir square, presidential guard who once guarded Mubarak, set up barricades to secure the Brotherhood leader

The Egyptian presidential guard has started impsoing security measures in Tahrir square, around two hours before president-elect Mohamed Morsi is due to give a historic speech as Egypt's first-ever democratically elected president.

Officers are setting up barricades near the main podium in the epicentre of the 2011 January revolution.

Morsi is scheduled to address the nation at 4pm GMT (6pm Cairo Local Time).
