The Muslim Brotherhood declared Saturday they will be supporting President Mohamed Morsi’s initiative of “security, traffic, bread, fuel, garbage," aiming at providing citizens with sufficient bread and fuel and solving urgent problems of garbage accumulation, traffic and a lack of security.

According to Brotherhood General Secretary Mahmoud Hussein, the decision to support Morsi’s plan was taken during a Saturday meeting held by the organisation’s Shura Council, which discussed ways by which the initiative could be supported in coordination with other political groups and state institutions.

Brotherhood Spokesperson Mahmoud Ghozlan explained to Ahram Arabic news that the Brotherhood is planning to provide Morsi’s plan with both human and financial resources. In coordination with state institutions, the Brotherhood would provide volunteers that would assist in collecting garbage and supervising the production and distribution of bread.

Ghozlan further added that the Brotherhood may even consider opening the door to donations, to contribute in raising the salaries of workers, especially those in the cleaning sectors.
