In a heartfelt message published on the Kremlin’s website, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated El-Sisi for his new 6-year term after he received the highest votes in Egypt’s 2024 presidential elections.
“Dear Mr. President, I hope you accept my heartfelt congratulations on your re-election as President. Your convincing victory in the elections is a clear testament to the widespread recognition of your services in addressing social, economic, and current foreign policy challenges facing Egypt,” read the statement.
Additionally, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to continue working on strengthening bilateral relations within the BRICS framework.
Palestine’s President Mahmoud Abbas also congratulated El-Sisi for winning the 2024 presidential elections, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
In his message, Abbas stated that El-Sisi’s victory represents a continuation of his commitment to achieving more significant accomplishments and the preservation of Egypt's gains and leading role in the Arab, regional, and international arenas.
Moreover, he thanked El-Sisi for Egypt’s support in providing humanitarian aid for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the unceasing efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
On Tuesday, Jordan’s King Abdullah II bin Hussein and Sudan’s Chairman of Sovereignty Council Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan congratulated El-Sisi in phone calls on his third term.
El-Sisi also received a phone call from Tunisian President Kais Saied, who congratulated the President on his re-election and stressed Tunisia’s keenness to continue cooperating with Egypt in all fields.
Other world leaders including China’s President Xi Jinping, Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa also conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to El-Sisi.
A lot of syndicates also congratulated El-Sisi for his third term including the Journalists Syndicate, the Artists Syndicate, the Pharmacists Syndicate, the Doctors Syndicate, the Teachers Syndicate, and many more.
The elections saw a turnout of 66.8 percent, with 44.7 million citizens voting in the elections at home and abroad, out of 67.3 million eligible voters, Hazem Badawy, the NEA’s head, said in a press conference on Monday.
According to the NEA, El-Sisi won with 39.7 million votes, representing 89.6 percent of valid votes.
During a televised speech on Monday, President El-Sisi expressed his sincere appreciation and immense gratitude to every Egyptian who participated in the elections, while the state is grappling with a multitude of challenges across all levels.
El-Sisi also expressed his joy at seeing Egyptians lining up at polling stations, "which demonstrates that the will of Egyptians is affirmed with the voice of every Egyptian man and woman," he said.
