The Call of Egypt electoral list said Saturday that it will withdraw from the country's ongoing parliamentary elections and will challenge the results of the election's first phase in front of the Supreme Administrative Court.

Call of Egypt is one of seven electoral lists running in the parliamentary elections, the first phase of which took place on 18-19 October.

The list brought together 17 political parties and youth movements, including the Arab Party for Justice and Equality and Egypt's Protectors’ party. It also contains the I Am Egyptian coalition.

Call of Egypt, which had decided to compete only in the October phase of the election not November, did not manage to win any of the 60 seats designated to electoral lists per first phase.

 "For the Love of Egypt” electoral list won all 60 seats. The second phase of the elections is scheduled to take place on 22 and 23 November.

"The electoral process did not meet the degree of integrity desired, especially since the "For the Love of Egypt" list presented itself, with the help of the media, as the only national list," a candidate on the Call of Egypt list, Amr Abdel-Hakim, said in a Saturday conference in Cairo.

Members of the parties which joined Call of Egypt, who had planned to run as independents in the Novemebr phase, have decided to withdraw as well.

The list representatives also said they would challenge the election results to "reveal violations during the elections that were covered up by the media."

Members of the list did not elaborate on these violations.
