More than 40 Free Egyptian party candidates running individually will take part in run-offs in the second stage of the parliamentary elections, the party's spokesperson Shehab Waguih said on Tuesday.
Waguih said that so far, none of the party's candidates have secured seats in the second stage of the elections.
One-hundred-and-ten Free Egyptian party candidates ran for individual seats in the second stage of the elections, in addition to three candidates from the party on the For the Love of Egypt list.
The party will hold a press conference to announce the results of the elections when they are received by the party’s representatives who are present at polling stations, Waguih added.
However, the official results of the elections will not be released until later in the week by the High Elections Committee.
The Free Egyptian party secured 36 individual seats out of 226 seats in the first stage of the elections in October, in addition to five candidates who were running on the For the Love of Egypt list that secured all 60 party-based seats in the first stage.
There are 222 individual seats being contested in the second stage of the elections as well as 60 party-based seats.
