An Egyptian administrative court on Sunday issued a judgement nullifying the initial parliamentary election results in the constituency of Mansoura city in Daqahliya, MENA reported.

Parliamentary candidate Noaman Samir had filed an appeal against the results based on alleged violations in the constituency during the first round of voting last week. His appeal was accepted, although appeals made by 33 other candidates were rejected by the court.

Samir, who represents the Future of the Homeland Party, was competing for an individual seat in the constituency, which contains three available seats.

After the vote, several candidates were announced as moving on to the runoff round.

Ex-MP and businessman Wahid Foda, lawyer Nabil El-Gamal, General Salah Samak, lawyer Mohamed Rashad, all independents, qualified for the runoffs, as well as two Free Egyptian Party candidates, medical doctor Inas Abdel-Halim and petroleum company employee Ahmed Hammad.

Samir's successful appeal means that the results are null and voting to determine winners or runoff candidates will take place again, at a date yet to be scheduled.

The runoff round in 13 of Egypt's governorates will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For Egyptians abroad, voting for run-offs is taking place on Monday and Tuesday.

Voters in the other 14 governorates went to the polls in October.
